Club Shay Shay
There is one thing John Cena hates the film industry – and it’s not the long hours or memorizing lines – the WWE legend HATES filming sex scenes!
The 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion appeared on the “Club Shay Shay“ Podcast with Shannon Sharpewhere the guys talked about everything from his legendary wrestling career to his beginnings in the film industry.
This is when the topic of Cena’s role in Amy SchumerThe movie “Dating Queen” came up… a role that required Cena to participate in some NSFW scenes.
This led to Sharpe asking if it was difficult to shoot these scenes (pun intended), to which Cena immediately replied with a “yes”!
“Right now, you guys at home think we’re alone,” Cena said. “There’s a whole damn world back there.”
“We started practicing; it was like a closed set,” he said. “I came to terms with the fact that you are who you are. You work hard every day to be the best you can be, screw it, man, let it hang out. It takes so many people to make a movie, there’s nothing intimate about it. Nothing. It’s really embarrassing.”
John added that comedic sex scenes are even more difficult because you have to make them as uncomfortable as possible while the whole crew is watching.
“It’s different,” he said. “I’m not saying it sucks, it’s just different than what you all think.”
Although the film was difficult to shoot, he was still part of a very successful film that grossed $140 million at the box office. Cena also said that learning from Schumer and director Judd Apatow was a great experience.
Sometimes… you have to do what you have to do!
