Christopher Morin, the person behind The sound of the mountains freely admits that his music is not for everyone. I would qualify that, however, to say that it may be for everyone, just not for every occasion. But if you want music that makes you think and reflect, music that is accessible without being intrusive, music that is absorbed by a kind of effortless osmosis rather than forced upon the senses, then he is undoubtedly your man.

With “Every Burden, Every Crown”, the last single before the release of a full album, he ventures into his familiar territory – that of ambient drifts and cinematic soundscapes, floating creativity only loosely coupled to ringing piano melodies, a place of analogue sounds and digital waves, of breathtaking, cinematic beauty, grace and delicacy.

Christopher’s approach to music also reminds me of the greatest Forest robots in that both are, at least in part, love letters to nature, music inspired by the grandeur of the surrounding environment that each artist sees and explores both sonically and physically. And how Fran Dominguez Inspired by the Sierra Nevada Even this music, which does not have any lyrics, speaks exclusively through the sound itself and thereby describes a breadth and beauty, a magnitude and a restlessness that are difficult to describe in words.
