United Airlines will add 20 special nonstop flights for the upcoming college football season and also upgrade more than 100 flights to larger aircraft to coincide with major games.
United Airlines upgrades aircraft and offers special nonstop flights to major college football games
To accommodate high demand for games like the University of Texas-Austin vs. University of Michigan on September 7, 2024, Ohio State vs. Oregon on October 12, or Alabama vs. LSU on November 9, United will offer 20 special nonstop flights. Let’s take a look.
September Games
For all matches, flights will be available to travel to the matches on Friday and return on Sunday, with the exception of the BTR-LAS flight departing on Saturday 31 August and returning on Monday 2 September.
October Games
For all games, return flights are available on Friday and Sunday.
Games in November
For all games, return flights are available on Friday and Sunday.
Patrick Quayle, United’s senior vice president of global network planning and alliances, said:
“Connecting travellers to the moments that matter most to them is at the core of what we do at United. We know fans will appreciate this year’s special football programme, which makes it easier to cheer on their teams on the go.”
In addition, United will upgrade aircraft on 115 flights to accommodate expected additional demand related to sports games (a list was not provided).
