Parker McCollum and his wife, Hallie Ray Light McCollumwelcomed baby number 1.
The McCollums announced in a post on Instagram on Friday evening (August 9) that their son Major Yancey Tyler McCollumwas born on Thursday (August 8). McCollum commented, “Mommy and Daddy forever! I love you, Hallie Ray, and I love our Major Man!”
The To Be Loved By You star announced earlier this year that Baby M was on the way. When Hallie first showed off her growing baby bump, she said, “God’s little blessings. We love you so much already Baby M!” Following the pregnancy announcement, the first-time parents revealed the gender and confirmed Baby M would be a “little cowboy.” Hallie, who recently shared a glimpse into Major’s cozy nursery, has been sharing glowing maternity photos throughout her pregnancy while awaiting the arrival of her little boy. At the end of June, she was around “8 months of growing.”
“It’s great. I watched the highlights of the Rose Bowl and saw Major Applewhite (current head coach of South Alabama football and former quarterback of Texas),” McCollum said when he recently saw his son’s name on The Spencer Graves ShowGraves shared a clip from the interview on Instagram and TikTok on July 23. “I was like, ‘Damn, Major McCollum would be sick.'”
McCollum and his wife got married in 2022 in Tomball, Texas, the country artist’s home state. McCollum previously said PEOPLE that he “couldn’t wait to propose to her” in July 2021. “There was no plan B and no hesitation. I didn’t think about anything. I thought to myself, ‘It can’t get any better than her.’ I had no doubt that I was making the right decision. It saved my life in some ways. I don’t think I was on the right path.” McCollum said after his first year of marriage, according to his record label, “Their time together is the most important thing that really matters to them (wives), at least to me (wife). … I’ve learned more than anything that my time with her probably goes the furthest.”
McCollum is the youngest country artist to have a baby in 2024.
