There are countless diets that promise a slimmer waist, but the first step in losing weight is to become more aware of your current daily habits.

By fine-tuning the quality and quantity of meals, those wanting to lose weight can achieve their goals without having to resort to extreme diets.

A content creator recently shared how she lost a significant amount of weight after giving up unhealthy behaviors that weren’t helping her.

On TikTok, Nicole claimed that her excess weight steadily decreased after she stopped restricting her food intake.

To lose weight safely and healthily, experts recommend making sure your food intake is 500 to 1,000 calories less than the total amount of calories you consume to maintain your weight.

“I lost 80 pounds and I’m going to tell you exactly how,” she told her followers. “Stop restricting yourself with those silly little diets that include no carbs, low carb keto, under 1000 calories, or 1200 calories.”

“They won’t work unless you give up carbohydrates for the rest of your life or eat only fats for the rest of your life. Then it won’t work.”

“Once you start this type of diet, you will start craving the foods you have always loved and you will get back into the vicious cycle.”

She continued, “When I learned that I could eat the foods I love while being in a calorie deficit and consuming about 1,900 calories, I started losing weight and my weight steadily dropped, and I could eat all the foods I loved.”

The calorie intake should not be less than 1,200 calories per day for women and 1,500 calories per day for men, otherwise the body could be deprived of important nutrients.

It is equally important for healthy weight loss to be moderately active and to exercise for about 30 minutes a day.

To feel full with fewer calories, medical experts at the Mayo Clinic recommend thinking about the energy density of each meal.

Their website explains: “Simply put, energy density is the number of calories (energy) in a given amount of food.

“Low energy density means that a large amount of food contains few calories. If you want to lose weight, one strategy is to eat foods that are low in energy density.”

The health authority explains that water, fiber and fat are the three main components that play a role in the density of food.

For example, most vegetables tend to be low in calories due to their water and fiber content, but high in volume or weight. These elements provide weight without calories.

There is no quick fix for weight loss and what works for one person may not necessarily work for the next.

Finding the approach that works best for you will increase your chances of long-term weight loss.
