It’s Day 3 of Provincetown Carnival Week. Today’s program includes a pool party, trivia, a food tasting tour, and the astrology dating game show.

The 2024 theme week, “Renaissance x Revolution,” runs from August 17-24. The tip of Cape Cod is expected to be filled with rainbows, feathers, big hairstyles, and plenty of costumes with nods to Marie Antoinette and Beyoncé all week long.

In addition to the highly anticipated parade down Commercial Street on August 22nd (no beads!), there are pool parties, dance parties, drag queen shows, dress-up opportunities and a boat cruise throughout the week, to name just a few of the festive summer activities.

We provide you with an up-to-date list of activities for each day of Carnival.

Here are some of the events planned for today:

Choose a party

At least four parties will be held on Monday, including Let Them Eat Cake, the annual Carnival pool party at the Brass Key Guesthouse at 67 Bradford Street. Billed as “Provincetown’s sexiest pool party,” the event benefits the Provincetown Business Guild and runs from 1 to 5 p.m. A clothing drop-off at the Gifford House at 9 Carver Street will be open from noon to 1 p.m.

The Boatslip Resort and Beach Club hosts a dance party every day of Carnival from 4 to 7 p.m. at 161 Commercial St. Themes change throughout the week. August 19 is Gen X, with club anthems from the ’90s and 2000s and “guilty pop pleasures.”

The Gifford House will host Power Snatch: A Lesbian-Centered Queer Party for All from 9pm-1am, while the Red Room at 258 Commercial Street will host a Brat Pony Club dance party starting at 10pm.

Watch a show – or three

There are about eight shows to choose from on Monday night, including a tribute to Freddy Mercury at the Pilgrim House and Broadway on the Beach at the Crown & Anchor, both at 7:30 p.m. The astrology dating game show is at the Crown & Anchor and Miss Richfield 1981 “Phony Baloney” kicks off at the Pilgrim House, both at 9 p.m.

Take a culinary tour of the Outer Cape

Mayflower Excursions’ food tours depart from Provincetown Town Hall at 260 Commercial Street at 2:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The buses make four stops in four hours – Provincetown Brewing Company, Salty Market in Truro, Truro Vineyard and the Canteen in Provincetown – for booze and food tastings, including seafood and farm-to-table products. Everyone gets a tote bag with snacks, water and “goodies.”
