Green County Sheriff: August 18, 2024

On August 8th:

● At approximately 2:32 a.m., officers responded to the W200 block of Atkinson Road in Albany for a report of a single-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver, Thomas J. Marlino, 43, of Brodhead, was traveling westbound on Atkinson Road when an animal appeared and he initiated evasive maneuvers. Marlino reported no injuries and the airbag deployed. Marlino’s vehicle sustained irreparable damage as a result. Marlino was cited for lack of vehicle maintenance.

● At approximately 6:44 a.m., officers responded to an incident in the N2800 block of County Highway GG in the City of Decatur involving a person responsible for disturbing the peace. The investigation revealed that Lacey Hanson, 38, of Brodhead was charged with disturbing the peace. Hanson was released and a court date has been scheduled.

● At approximately 6:48 a.m., officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of Mineral Street in the Village of Albany. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Tiffeny M. Calkins, 34, of Albany for disturbing the peace. Calkins was detained in the Green County Jail pending the posting of bail or a court date.

● At approximately 11:27 p.m., officers located a vehicle in a parking lot in the N2200 block of Cadiz Springs Road in the Town of Cadiz. Investigation revealed that Amanda Pelton, 20, of Belleville, and Gunner Stietz, 19, of Warren were charged with possession of THC and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia.

On August 9:

● At 9:37 a.m., officers along with Albany EMS, Albany Fire Department and Green County Paramedic responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W1900 block of County Highway C in the Town of Brooklyn. Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Anne R. Vandervort, 75, of Brooklyn was traveling westbound when she failed to negotiate a turn. The vehicle entered the southbound ditch and struck a tree. Vandervort stated she was not wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle’s airbags deployed. Vandervort sustained injuries and was transported by medical helicopter to an area hospital for treatment. The vehicle sustained major damage and was towed from the scene.

On August 10th:

● At approximately 7:34 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for speeding in the W6400 block of County Highway C in the Town of Washington. Investigation revealed that the passenger, Caden M Blum, 18, of Monroe, was charged with possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and possession of THC. Blum was released and a court date was scheduled.

On August 11th:

● At 5:28 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling left of center in the N3800 block of STH 59, Town of Sylvester. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Honorio Chipahua Chipahua, 29, of Monroe, for Driving Under the Influence (1st Class). Chipahua was also charged with Driving with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (over .15), Driving Without a Valid License, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance and Driving Left of Center. Chipahua was incarcerated in the Green County Jail.

● At 10:19 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint in the N7900 block of CTH J, Town of York. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Alexander B. Emberson, 19, of Blanchardville for violation of absolute sobriety. Emberson was released pending trial.

On August 12th:

● At 12:54 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the N1800 block of Ullom Road in Cadiz Township. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Jovanny J. Erickson, 19, of that residence, for domestic disturbance. Erickson was taken into custody and released after posting bail.

● At 2:51 p.m., officers responded to the N9400 block of CTH CC in the Town of Exeter for a one-vehicle rollover crash with injuries. The investigation revealed that the driver, Brian Freitag, 62, of New Glarus, was traveling southbound on CTH CC when his vehicle left the roadway. Freitag stated he was wearing a seat belt and sustained injuries in the crash. The vehicle’s airbags did not deploy, the vehicle did not sustain any incapacitating damage, and was later towed from the scene.

On August 14th:

● At 5:16 a.m., officers along with Brooklyn EMS and Brooklyn Fire Department responded to a vehicle crash involving a deer in the W1400 block of State Highway 92 in the Town of Brooklyn. The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Cynthia A. Klemm, 54, of Brodhead was traveling westbound and collided with a deer in the roadway. Klemm reported non-life threatening injuries and the vehicle’s airbags deployed. The vehicle sustained major damage and was towed from the scene.

● At 11:45 a.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of 6th Street in the Town of Monroe to assist Department of Corrections officers. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Haleigh J. Falsey, 28, of Argyle, for probation violation. Falsey was detained pending trial.
