Influencer couple claim they felt ‘vulnerable’ during their stay in a glass-enclosed hotel room

An influencer couple said they felt “vulnerable” while staying in a glass-enclosed hotel room.

In a viral video shared on the popular TikTok account “A Pretty Cool Hotel Tour,” Margaret Bienert and her husband Corey shared footage from their stay at the Paradiso Hotel in Ibiza, Spain a few years ago.

“When I say glass hotel room, I mean a literally Glass box in the lobby of the hotel. We were absolutely unprepared for this experience,” she explained.

“All I knew was that you could get one night free when you booked. I thought the idea was so funny and of course I wanted to try it out.”

The couple quickly discovered several less than ideal quirks while lying in bed, visible to the other hotel guests milling around, as the glass-enclosed room was near the hotel lobby. As if they were part of a performance art piece, one guest even took a photo with his cell phone of the couple attempting to sleep in their room.

“We discovered that the lights never go out and you’re basically on display all night long,” Margaret noted. “Then I realized that this is an art hotel, so anyone who sleeps in that room is just a part of the night.”

She warned anyone who wants to experience her stay in the glass room to be aware that they will be completely on display.

“Here are a few ideas I wish I had prepared last time to keep the guests entertained instead of feeling completely vulnerable in there all evening,” Margaret said. She came up with a few ideas like trying out Taylor Swift’s entire Eras Tour setlist, doing a live painting, or setting up a pseudo kissing booth with a sign saying she would kiss anyone through the glass if they paid $5.

“Anyway, it just feels like there’s so much room for creativity in this space – unfortunately, I just wasn’t prepared,” she concluded. “So I’ll have to leave it up to a future guest to do one or two of those things, so yeah, let me know if you try it.”

By Sunday, the video had been viewed nearly two million times, and in the comments section, many people called the hotel experience “dystopian.”

“I had such a nightmare,” one person wrote, with another adding, “I was screaming the whole time.”

“Lol, so I’m sleeping in the villa,” said one viewer, referring to Love Island.

To which Margaret jokingly replied: “BASICALLY YES, but at least their lights go out!!!!”

In a follow-up video, Margaret assured her followers that guests in the glass room would have their own bathroom. However, she also noted that the glass room was not completely soundproof, so guests could hear her and her husband, and the couple could also hear noise from the lobby.

She recommends that anyone else who wants to stay there bring eye masks and earplugs.
