Ranvir Shorey made waves with his performance on Bigg Boss OTT 3. He played his game really well and impressed the viewers with his honesty. The actor’s amazing journey on the controversial show proved to be fruitful as he made it to the finale and finally got his name engraved among the top three contestants.

Ranvir may not have won the coveted trophy, but he has taken home countless bittersweet memories. Inside the house, viewers have witnessed the Sonchiriya actor befriending some housemates and fighting with others. As he celebrates his birthday today, we bring you 7 remarkable moments from his Bigg Boss OTT 3 journey.

1. Fights with Sana Makbul

Ranvir Shorey and Sana Makbul had a good start. However, after several ugly arguments, they slowly began to drift apart.

The two stars had several heated exchanges during their stay in the house. But one verbal tussle that crossed all boundaries was when they hurled foul language at each other.

While performing a task, Sana violated the rules and started snatching flowers from Ranvir’s hand. He tried to stop her but she did not listen to him. The two then got into a heated argument during which Sana warned Ranvir not to show her his “mendak jaisi aankhein (frog-like eyes).” This infuriated Sana and he ended up calling Sana a “naagin (female snake)” and “sadak chaap” (low-brown) and so on. In retaliation, the Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner referred to the 51-year-old actor as “gandi naali ka keedha” (worm from dirty drain) and “chilgoza” (pine nut).

On another occasion, Sana shamed Ranvir for his age and made fun of his personal life, calling her “Gutterchaap (someone who comes from the gutter).”

Even after they left the show, the rivals did not stop insulting each other. Ranvir commented on Sana’s win on the show and called her an “undeserving winner”. Sana responded by calling Ranvir a “male chauvinist”.

2. Imitate Shivani Kumari

Ranvir, who has a versatile personality, was often seen imitating his roommate Shivani Kumari. His hidden talent came out during a fun duel with Shivani to showcase their mimicry skills.

The Bheja Fry actor stole the show with his impeccable portrayal of the Bihar sensation asking for food. He was also once seen mimicking Shivani’s behaviour in the house and her daily morning vlogs for Adnaan Shaikh. Host Anil Kapoor praised Ranvir for adding to the entertainment element with his hilarious side.

3. He talks about his mother’s death

When Ranvir Shorey spoke about his mother’s death on the show, he described the stressful time he went through at that time.

He said, “In 2002, when I was shooting for Lakshya in Ladakh, I got a call from home that my mother was not well. I could not leave the set during the shoot. Thankfully, when I returned to Bombay, she was better and was discharged from the hospital. A few days later, she breathed her last at home. It remains the biggest trauma of my life.”

4. Remembering the biggest scandal of his life

Ranvir did not name any names, but reliving the painful time of his mother’s death, he indirectly recalled and pointed out the “biggest controversy of his life with an actress”.

He said, “At the same time (after his mother’s death), I also went through the biggest scandal of my life with another actress. Since I couldn’t handle it, my brother asked me to come with him to the US for a while. I did a six-month acting course in the US and borrowed money from my brother. After returning from the US, I started shooting for The Great Indian Comedy Show in 2005.”

For those who don’t know, the Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. actor was in a relationship with Pooja Bhatt which ended with them making serious allegations against each other. Their separation was a highly publicized affair. Later, Ranvir married actress Konkona Sen Sharma. The two are now divorced and share custody of their son Haroon.

5. Bromance with Armaan Malik and Sai Ketan Rao

Apart from ugly arguments, Ranvir’s stay in the glass-walled house also had some light-hearted moments. He shared a heartwarming bond with Kritika Malik, Sai Ketan Rao and Armaan Malik.

After coming out, the Khosla Ka Ghosla actor claimed that Sai was like a younger brother to him. He also took Armaan’s advice to utilize his potential and start a YouTube channel by making his debut on the platform. Although the trio is yet to get back together after the reality show concluded, they have individually expressed to maintain their friendship in the outside world.

6. At the grand finale he gets emotional and misses his family

Ranvir Shorey was left teary-eyed during the grand finale episode of Bigg Boss OTT 3. He saw the people close to him cheering for them, but his family was not there. This made him emotional. He revealed that the show is all about that – missing your family.

Other contestants lifted his spirits by saying that they were his family. Sana Sultan Khan said, “Aap agar roya toh mei aapko PJ wala shayari suna dungi sir (When you cry, listen to a bad joke.)”

Sai added, “Aapo mei teen baje call kardunga phir (I will call you at 3 am.)” They tried to cheer him up.

7. Let Anil Kapoor pamper you with delicious food and Mutton Seekh Kebab

Once Ranvir Shorey was heard planning to cook and eat a kilo of mutton alone after leaving the house. His wish was fulfilled in the episode of Weekend Ka Vaar when he was provided with delicious food.

After he was relegated to third place in the finale, Anil Kapoor showered him with praise and treated him to Mutton Seekh Kebab.
