American Airlines flight has to make emergency landing in New York due to overflowing toilet

What a shitty flight.

An American Airlines flight bound for Spain had to make an emergency landing in New York on Wednesday when the aircraft toilet overflowed, officials said.

According to the FAA, the flight had just taken off from Dallas when the toilet problem occurred.

The plane landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport at around 10:30 p.m.

American Airlines confirmed that the “maintenance issue” was with the bathroom sinks and offered its passengers accommodation for the night while they waited for a new plane to continue their international journey.

“The aircraft landed normally and is scheduled to depart on another aircraft (Thursday) evening. We do not want to disrupt our customers’ travel plans and apologize for the inconvenience,” an American Airlines spokesperson said in a statement.

This disgusting diversion comes in the wake of a series of bizarre incidents last month that forced American Airlines to make emergency landings.

In a frightening incident, a flight from Amsterdam to JFK was diverted when several passengers became ill after being served spoiled food, the FAA said.

Also last month, the airline’s Boeing 737 had to abort takeoff in Florida after one of its wheels exploded on the runway.
