Police: Girlfriend hits partner with car during argument on way to couples therapy

An angry girlfriend was arrested after allegedly driving her car into her partner as he tried to break up with her – while they were on their way to couples therapy, police said.

The victim and his girlfriend, Veronica Roleen Gast, 30, were on their way to a therapy session in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, on Saturday when an argument allegedly broke out between them, Fergus Now reported.

The couple had been arguing all day when the boyfriend – whose identity remained unknown – suddenly declared that he thought the relationship was no longer working, police said.

An angry guest then reportedly stopped the car in the middle of traffic and ordered him to get out.

As the friend ran in front of the car to get onto the sidewalk, Gast stared at him and accelerated to full speed, attempting to cut him down, police said.

The victim told police he was thrown against the windshield and over the hood of the car, causing a back injury and a cut to his right elbow.

Guest later admitted to hitting her boyfriend with her car, but claimed it was an accident because she was excited and not paying attention.

As part of the saga, she was charged with second-degree assault, gross negligence, domestic violence and driving a vehicle – assault, gross negligence and domestic violence.
