This story from St Andrews is a vicious circle | University of St Andrews

You report (1 August) that the University Court of St Andrews justified its decision to remove the Rector from two other posts on the grounds that she had repeatedly refused to accept the conclusions of an independent report and thus had not accepted the conclusion of that report that her dismissal was disproportionate. Not a vicious circle, but from the same drawer?

Perhaps oddly, given where I live, I’m not a fan of Tottenham Cake (sold in Greggs’ London stores). I do, however, frequent Greggs (Zoe Williams, August 6). I like the sausage breakfast rolls and, unlike some fast food chains, the place is fully unionised. That certainly makes the food taste better.

Another really good thing about Greggs is that it promotes Fairtrade for hot drinks and orange juice. This helps to dispel the perception that Fairtrade is just extra virtuousness of those with deeper pockets.

Sayeeda Warsi’s comment that Robert Jenrick is “such a tool” (report dated 7 August) is not entirely accurate, because tools are usually useful, whereas Jenrick is useless, as his time in government has proven.
