Schumer, who led the hate chorus against Netanyahu, publishes book on anti-Semitism

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will publish a book on anti-Semitism in 2025 – after leading the chorus of hatred against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

Schumer tried to appease anti-Israel voices in his party by delivering a hate-filled speech in March calling on Israel to oust Netanyahu and call new elections. His speech was so bold that major Jewish organizations criticized him for it.

“Our member organizations, representing broad swathes of American Jewry, remain dismayed that an American politician would dictate to a sovereign, democratic ally when its electoral process should take place,” Jewish leaders said at the time.

Compared to other political leaders, Schumer was remarkably silent after October 7. In November 2023, he gave a speech on anti-Semitism in which he criticized some on the left but also blamed President Donald Trump and Netanyahu.

Last month, Schumer claimed he refused to shake Netanyahu’s hand in Congress, but Netanyahu’s office released a photo of Schumer shaking hands in private, suggesting that Schumer wanted to embarrass the Israeli prime minister in front of the American people but lacked the courage to contradict him in private.

As Senate Majority Leader, Schumer delayed military aid to Israel and confirmed some of President Joe Biden’s most anti-Israel and anti-Semitic nominees – including the head of the Justice Department’s civil rights division, Kristen Clarke, a radical who tried to distance her past ties to anti-Semitism but then stood by and watched as anti-Jewish hatred exploded.

There is no doubt that Schumer will again try to blame Trump and Netanyahu in his new book on anti-Semitism.

He will have plenty of time to promote the book: polls suggest that Republicans will regain the Senate majority in November, meaning Schumer will be voted out of his current office and relegated to the opposition bench.

The timing of the book’s publication may also indicate that Schumer hopes to derail a potential Trump administration by accusing it of anti-Semitism – just as Democrats did during Trump’s first term by promoting the “Very Fine People” hoax.
