Congratulations to William Taylor, winner of Aspirus Riverview’s quarterly DAISY Award for exceptional caregivers. Bill is a registered nurse in the hospital’s intensive care unit and was nominated by a grateful patient’s child who wrote:
Bill’s dedication and compassion were evident in caring for my stubborn father. Beyond his clinical duties, Bill went the extra mile, making sure our family understood each test and its meaning, and easing our fears. His infectious humor not only lifted my dad’s spirits, but also provided moments of laughter amidst the seriousness of the situation. Bill took the time to help Dad with his personal hygiene and boosted his morale a little but significantly with his exceptional care. Bill facilitated a breakthrough in our family dynamic and helped us understand the importance of following medical advice, as Dad likes to do his own thing. Bill’s unwavering support was critical in guiding us down the path of understanding. Bill showed grace and empathy as he helped us make Dad aware of the seriousness of his condition. We are nominating Bill for a DAISY Award because he truly deserves it!
