BCHS Alumni Tailgate Party to Celebrate 60 Years of Graduation; Association Accepts Nominations

The Boyle County High School Alumni Association will host the Association’s annual Tailgate Party prior to the Boyle vs. Taylor County football game on Friday, September 20th.
The party will be held in the high school cafeteria. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Every year, the graduating class celebrating its 50th anniversary is offered a special highlight as part of the event at the Tailgate Party.
“We always try to get as many alumni as possible. We always honor the class that has been around for 50 years,” said Ervin Vanover, acting president of the BCHS Alumni Association. “We have a special table for them. If they need help with their reunion, we help them with that.”
As part of the tailgate party, the club presents the “Distinguished Alumni” and “Rebel for Life” awards.
Recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award may be nominated by anyone and must meet the following criteria to be considered for the award: nomination before the September 6 deadline, graduate of BCHS or one of the consolidated county high schools, and graduated at least 10 years ago.
The Rebel for Life award is given to former Boyle County Schools employees who have shown exceptional service to the school system. Recipients are honored during halftime of the football game.
The BCHS Alumni Association was founded 14 years ago to support Boyle County Schools and provide a way for alumni to reconnect with former classmates. Half of all membership dues collected by the Alumni Association are donated to Boyle County Schools.
