John Cena reveals more details about his upcoming retirement tour

WWE legend John Cena is determined to hang up his football boots and has made it clear that no amount of money in the world can dissuade him. Now he has revealed more details about his upcoming farewell tour.

During the Jackpot! promotion, Cena said ComicBook that he has built a trusting relationship with fans over the years and the 16-time world champion is a man of his word. His successful career in the ring will culminate in December 2025 and he said that he will retire even if he is offered a huge sum of money. He said:

“There is no check writer with enough money that can change my mind if I quit in December. I don’t want to continue for my ego or financial gain. I’ve built a relationship of trust and authenticity with WWE over the years, and that means the people who think I’m bad and the people who believe in me know that I’m honest with them and trustworthy. I mean what I’m saying: When I’m done in December, I’m done. It’s the last time I’m going to perform in a ring.”

Cena, who has had a legendary career, said he wanted to try something special for his farewell tour and relive the memories of 25 long years. He said:

“It’s really the last time for generations that grandparents, parents and kids get together at the same time. Grandparents might say, ‘I didn’t know anything about wrestling and my son dragged me here.’ That son now has a son and a daughter of his own, and they like John Cena, and now their kid likes Cody Rhodes. I want to try to do something special where we can all get together one last time and go through 25 years of memories.”

John Cena’s career after wrestling

After his retirement, Cena plans to continue representing WWE, although he will take on an ambassadorial role.

“I will be a member of the WWE family as an ambassador and a grateful one. But you will see me wearing the (dots to match), not the wristbands, the jorts, the baseball cap. That will go away in December 2025, and that’s why we’re putting so much meaning and significance on this farewell tour.”

John Cena returned last month at this year’s Money In The Bank PLE and announced his farewell tour. Although Cena plans to retire soon, his acting career is flourishing. Fans can see him in Jackpot!an action comedy directed by Paul Feig, coming to Prime Video on Thursday, August 15th.
