This shoe hack has completely changed the way I run, walk and dance in high heels

I had some fears before my wedding day – I think that’s normal!! However, none of them were related to receive married. Cold feet were not an issue for me; I felt so confident about marrying my now husband, although there was a funny part during the ceremony where I forgot my bouquet and kept the guests (and him) waiting for a while. few longer than expected – so there was some worry. We still laugh about it today.

I did have one concern, though: how was I going to walk down the aisle—and through the garden of our Italian villa during aperitivos and dinner? Of course, I could have chosen a block heel as my wedding shoe, but to be honest, I didn’t want to, so I went with a stiletto. When my sister said, “Eva, don’t worry, I have a trick for you!”, I was all ears. She’s my big sister, after all, and she knows the solutions. This time, she pointed me to Amazon for these heel protectors, which I can’t believe I didn’t have on hand earlier. They were a game changer—and we offered them to all of our guests because many of them also came in thin-heeled pumps that weren’t really grass-friendly.

These heel protectors are exactly what you think they are: they protect the heel, but in addition they also provide a slightly larger base to walk on. That means no more sinking heels that make you wobbly and uncomfortable (something I definitely didn’t want to be while walking down the aisle with all eyes on me!). Stable and happy with my heel voice, my dad and I mastered the walk down the aisle, if I do say so myself, and it’s all thanks to this Amazon heel hack.

The $18 package includes 21 pairs in four different sizes, so you can find the right pair for your heel thickness. I had a pretty standard sized heel so I had no problem, but if you have a slightly trendier heel (say, a heel with a slightly tapered base), you might not be able to get these protectors on. Just a word of advice! But other than that, the sturdy plastic design holds up well and is made of a strong, flexible rubber that can take anything –even Hours of dancing.

I wore them at my wedding, but trust me when I say that these heel protectors are a must-have for everyday wear. So much so, in fact, that I made them a must-have shoe hack because we all know wearing heels isn’t exactly easy. Cobblestones (help!), subway grates, sidewalks – there are so many risk factors your heel can get stuck in, and these rubber additives can prevent those wardrobe problems. A real game-changer. Not to mention that they’re basically $1 each and you can reuse them, depending on wear and tear of course.

Let’s just say these shoes are a definite wedding must-have, but they’re also commuter essentials. Shop them here, and find more heel hacks below.
