USA, Trump returns to publish on X: “With Biden, the economy is shaken and the nation is in decline”

Former President of the United States Donald Trump returned to post a message on the platform when I was president? Our economy is destroyed. Our border has been erased. We are a nation in decline. Make the American dream ACCESSIBLE again. Make America SAFE again. Make America GREAT again!” writes the Republican candidate on his X account, which was restored on November 6 after Elon Musk took over the company. Until now, however, the former president had refrained from posting new messages, preferring the Truth social network, which he himself founded.

Trump’s return to The Event, according to the owner of . Ahead of the conversation with Trump, Musk wrote that X was conducting “some tests to scale the system” to handle the expected large number of participants. The conversation will not only be a way for the former president to reach potentially millions of voters directly, but also an opportunity for X – a platform that relies heavily on politics – to redeem itself after some difficulties. After canceling the first presidential debate in August following Joe Biden’s withdrawal, Trump launched his own counter-program, appearing in a recorded interview with former “Fox News” host Tucker Carlson that aired on X. Last month, Biden himself also announced the news of his withdrawal from the campaign in a letter published on the platform.

It should also be noted that in May 2023, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis used the platform to officially announce his candidacy for president, a disastrous launch ruined by technical problems and overloaded by over 400,000 users trying to connect. Musk, who until a few years ago still called himself a Democrat, endorsed Trump’s candidacy two days after the former president was injured in an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania last month. Long before endorsing Trump, however, Musk increasingly leaned right-wing in his posts and actions on the platform, even trying to use X to influence political discourse around the world. Musk also reactivated previously suspended accounts such as that of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and Trump himself, who had been suspended there two days after the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, with the company citing “the risk of further incitement to violence.”
