Inter Milan has no intention of making a “gift” to Juventus with the offer for the Italian contract rebel

Inter Milan has no intention of “gifting” its rival Juventus an offer for Federico Chiesa this summer.

This is according to today’s print edition of Turin newspaper Tuttosport, published via FCInterNews, which report that the Nerazzurri could have Chiesa on a free transfer, but would not pay a transfer fee for him.

Getting rid of Chiesa seems to be one of Juventus’ biggest priorities in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

The former Fiorentina winger plays no role in the plans of the new Bianconeri coach Thiago Motta.

Chiesa earns a high salary. Juventus would certainly be happy to get rid of him and make room for new attacking players.

And then there is Chiesa’s contract situation.

The Italian international’s contract with Juventus runs until the end of June next year.

Therefore, this summer would be the last opportunity for the Turin club to make money with Chiesa, otherwise they would have to either sell him at a bargain price in January or lose him for nothing when his contract expires.

Juventus have certainly listened to all offers for Chiesa this summer.

There was tentative interest from clubs like Roma and Napoli, but these clubs seem to have moved in other directions.

Then there were the ongoing links to Inter.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly been keeping an eye on Chiesa’s situation.

This was done more with a view to a possible free transfer next summer. Inter are no strangers to signing big names on free transfers.

There have also been rumors that Inter might even try to sign Chiesa this summer.

The Nerazzurri could well take advantage of Juventus’ predicament by making a low offer and hoping that it is the best the Bianconeri can get for the 26-year-old.

But according to Tuttosport, Inter have no intention of doing even that much for their rivals in the Derby d’Italia.

Inter will wait and see if Chiesa stays at Juventus until the end of his contract before they can make their move.

But the Nerazzurri are doing one of their biggest rivals a disservice by paying a transfer fee for a player they are desperate to sell.
