Trump falsely claims Harris campaign ‘fake’ photos of Detroit rally

DETROIT – Former President Donald Trump falsely claimed that photos from Kamala Harris’ rally last week at Detroit Metro Airport were generated using AI to exaggerate the size of the crowd.

The Harris campaign held the rally last Wednesday, a day after Tim Walz was announced as the Democratic vice presidential nominee. Her campaign estimated that 15,000 people attended the rally.

WDIV attended the rally and although we did not count exactly 15,000 participants, we can confirm that several thousand people attended the event. Below you can see our report from the event that day:

You can also see several photos taken by Associated Press photographers showing the large crowd.

Trump’s statement posted on Truth Social claimed that “no one” was in the airport hangar and called for the vice president’s disqualification from the race. The Harris team denied that claim.
