New Romanian airline Bees Airlines announces scheduled flights

The Romanian low-cost airline Bees Airlines, which originally started as a pure charter airline, has announced its next scheduled flights.

The airline was founded in 2023 and received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in March 2024. It initially stated on its website that it would offer charter flights to Asia, Europe and Africa. Since then, the airline has expanded and new scheduled flights are scheduled to begin in August 2024.

Accordingly Aviation WeekBees Airlines bought its name and brand from the previous Ukrainian low-cost carrier, which operated between 2021 and 2022 but ceased operations due to the Russian invasion of the country. A spokesperson clarified that there is no connection between the two companies and that Bees Airline is 100 percent Romanian.

The new scheduled connections include Bucharest – Verona, Prague, Tel Aviv, Heraklion and Baden-Baden, Suceava – Tel Aviv and Baden-Baden and Chisinau – Verona.

“We are pleased to achieve one of the goals we set when we founded the company, which is to offer regular flights to as many destinations as possible,” said Victor Antohe, CEO of Bees Airlines. “Our development plans aim to increase the fleet and diversify the services and products offered on board Bees Airlines aircraft.”

The airline has established its hub at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport and operates a fleet of Airbus A320-232 aircraft.
