In her recent column for a news portal, Twinkle recalled a funny anecdote where she “haunted” Akshay and her “second wife”. Read on to know the full story!

Akshay Kumar told THIS to Twinkle Khanna when she talked about his ‘second wife’

In her column for TOI, Twinkle wrote, “That evening, as we were driving back to the camp, the guide showed us a pair of birds called Tik-Tik, who are so devoted to each other that when one dies, the other sometimes kills itself by eating poisonous grass. I said to my husband (Akshay), ‘Acha (listen), if I die first, you better eat poisonous grass too. If I see your second wife walking around with my handbags, I promise I will come and chase you both.'”

She added: “He shook his head and replied, ‘I want to eat this poisonous grass now; at least then I don’t have to listen to all this nonsense.’ Then he swatted at a mosquito on my arm, the human equivalent of baboons delousing each other. We continued the complex choreography of cooperation, affection and mutual tolerance as our jeep sped toward the setting sun.”

Twinkle Khanna’s works

The actress and author completed her Masters in Fiction at Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2015, Twinkle wrote several books, her first book being Mrs. Funnybones. She then wrote The legend of Lakshmi Prasada collection of short stories.

Twinkle’s third book, Pyjamas Are Forgiving, attracted widespread attention and became her bestselling author in India in 2018, according to Nielsen BookScan India. Her fourth book was Welcome to Paradise, due out in 2023.
