“The same old story!” – Roy Keane is annoyed and angry with Man City in his prediction for the Premier League title race

“The same old story!” – Roy Keane is annoyed and angry with Man City in his prediction for the Premier League title race

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane reluctantly believes Manchester City will win all their remaining Premier League games and defend their title this season after their 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Forest, who are fighting for survival at the bottom of the table, did not make it easy for the Blues. However, after half an hour they managed to break through. Josko Gvardiol was able to break free of his marker and head the ball into the net.

After the break, City were back to their usual self and grabbed the three points in the 71st minute when substitute Erling Haaland fired the ball into the net one-on-one in front of the goalkeeper. Immediately after the final whistle, Sky Sports asked Keane for his initial thoughts – and they were bad news for the rest of the league.

“You will certainly be worried about the chances they conceded in the first half but listen, in the second half they were much more controlled and bringing on players like Haaland is not a bad option,” he said. “They are missing (Phil) Foden so it’s the same old story with Man City even when they are not at their best – they know how to win football games.

“They have good options on the bench. It’s a really good habit they’ve developed over the last few years to win football games.”

“I think City will win every game now. I was worried about their start and thought, could they slip up? Forest missed chances but it was a big and important win for City today.”

Pep Guardiola’s side are a point behind leaders Arsenal, who have played a game more than City, while Mikel Arteta’s side put the Blues under pressure at the earlier kick-off, beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 in the north London derby.
