College football is officially back. Every week throughout the 2024 season, I’ll be predicting the outcome of every game on the Big 12 schedule. Last season, I finished with a record of 71-34 (.676). Let’s see if we can top that this fall after starting Week 1 with a perfect 16-0. Wishful thinking, I know.
It’s going to be a big day for RJ Harvey. I could see him rushing for over 150 yards and scoring a few points as the Knights easily beat the Wildcats.
Lindenwood? Come on, Kansas. You need to find a more exciting opponent to open the season. Plan on at least Central Arkansas or Eastern Illinois. That’s an absolute bore-fest. Rock Chalk wins big.
Deion Sanders admitted that if it were up to him, he would never play a school with “Dokota.” I mean, can you blame him? Every single one of these teams plays hard and smart and regularly scares the hell out of FBS teams. My guess is Buffs > Bison, but it’s going to be a great game.
This is one of those games where the Utes come in expecting a big win, then sleep through the first half and eventually come out of their misery and win comfortably.
Stanford is expected to finish last in the weak ACC. The Cardinal may be rebuilding, but I don’t trust TCU that much, especially on the road. The Frogs win by a small margin.
This score prediction will be included on Thursday once our WVU-Penn State prediction article is published.
How many times have we seen Mike Gundy teams struggle in games like this? I mean, just last year they got crushed at home by South Alabama. They’ll avoid a loss this time, but the Jackrabbits will give them everything they’ve got.
There don’t seem to be many opportunities for Cincinnati to win in 2024. This is one of them.
Another Dakota, another rock fight, right? Well, maybe, but not the whole game. The Cyclones’ defense will take care of it and give the offense plenty of time to get into the swing of things.
The Skyhawks are a pretty strong FCS opponent, but K-State is just too strong for this to ever really become a game.
Tarleton State hasn’t fared so well against TCU and Texas Tech from the Big 12 the last two seasons, and while Baylor isn’t a top team in the league, they’ll still have trouble with the Bears. Baylor wins by a wide margin.
Willie Fritz will get the Cougars on track soon, but that won’t happen this year. They’ll finish Week 1 with a win and get a scare from the Running Rebels.
I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this. Do I really have to? Tahj Brooks is raging and making a case for Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.
With BYU having so many question marks on offense, I think the Salukis will make the game interesting. The Cougars will pull away midway through the fourth quarter with the right arm of Jake Retzlaff.
This is already over. The question should really be: Does Arizona hang over 55?
Why wait until Week 2 to predict a walk-off field goal when you can do it in Week 1? Arizona State trails for most of this game, but leaves the field lucky thanks to a 45-yard kick by Parker Lewis.
