The first thing I noticed about TruSkin’s vitamin C serum was the convenient dropper that allowed me to get the recommended 3 to 5 drops at a time without wasting product. After applying the serum to my face, it absorbed quickly. It also didn’t feel oddly sticky like I’ve experienced with other vitamin C serums. However, my skin did feel a little dry in some areas, like my cheeks. I discovered that the formula contains witch hazel, which tightens pores, which likely contributed to the tightness I was feeling. A helpful tip? Add a few drops of the serum to your moisturizer or simply apply moisturizer on top. My face felt smoother and more hydrated afterward.

The serum contains 20 percent vitamin C, which is designed to even out skin tone and boost collagen production to reduce dark spots and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I have a few dark spots on my cheeks and have noticed a subtle lightening of the discoloration. I wouldn’t say it complete gone, but I’m willing to continue using the serum to see if they fade further over time.

The serum also contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, aloe vera, and jojoba oil, which balance out the astringent ingredients in the gentle formula. Yes, I felt a little dry at first, but by the end of the day, my T-zone wasn’t greasy either. TruSkin claims that their serum doesn’t sting like other vitamin C serums, and I found that to be true. Overall, it was lightweight and didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It’s also fragrance-free, which is helpful.
