Nasty Ray was born and raised in Beijing. He was introduced to hip hop in 1998. He began collecting records from all over the Forbidden City when he heard music on CDs. In 2004, he rapped and participated in the freestyle battle. In six years, he won 13 major championships, including the championship of the 2009 Iron Mic National Finals, the release of the single “Unity Lake” in 2011, the four-week championship of 88.7 FM Radio The Park, and was elected to the Singles Hall of Fame, becoming one of the most representative songs. In 2012, he founded Natural Flavor, a monthly party that is the earliest promotion of party culture activities, music sharing and dissemination. It has been held for more than ten years and is China’s oldest hip hop party with influence across the country. In 2018, Zulu Nation was invited to join the world’s first hip hop organization founded in New York in 1973, and in 2019 released the country’s first 12-inch vinyl single, “Survival of the Fittest,” which was released on the prestigious Japanese Disc Union store and premiered in Chinese on Shade 45, one of the top three hip hop radio stations in America. Nasty Ray has 20 years of rap gig experience and has performed with many American hip hop legends including Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan, Das EFX, Madlib, Grandmaster Flash, Da Great Deity Dah, Akil and DJ Nu-Mark of Jurassic 5, Diamond D of DITC and his latest album “The 40 Fingers.”
