WARREN – It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Deacon Bob Green, age 72, who passed away to be with the Lord our Savior on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

Bob was an extraordinary man, a beacon of unconditional love and a true servant of his faith. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, compassion and unwavering devotion to others. He touched the lives of everyone he met and left behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A devoted father, grandfather and loving husband, Bob’s family was the center of his world. His gentle guidance, warm embrace and infectious laughter created a home filled with joy and precious memories. He was a support and a source of comfort, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand.

Bob was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania to Francis Green and Nancy Barto Bauer. He graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University. He worked as a certified public accountant (CPA) and spent his career in the manufacturing industry in senior management positions, most recently as CFO of Glunt Industries.

Bob was an ordained deacon for the last 11 years, starting at Blessed Sacrament before coming to his current parish of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland. He served in many areas, with RCIA and youth ministry being his favorite. Bob walked through life with a grace and humility that made everyone around him strive to be better. In addition to his work as a deacon, he was a mentor and friend to many, always leading by example and offering his wisdom and support. His faith was the cornerstone of his life and he was fully dedicated to serving his community and sharing his love with all.

His father Francis, his first wife Bonnie and his stepfather Steven Bendekovits predeceased him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Sandra, his mother Nancy Bauer, his children Michael Green, Jennifer (Scott) Donoughe, Brooke (Joseph) Steines and Angelica Fortune, his grandchildren Anthony, Samantha, Jake, Julia and Patrick Anthony, his sister Nancy (Barry) Breitenstein, many nieces and nephews, and numerous other family and friends who will always cherish his memory.

Family and friends may say goodbye to him on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, OH 44483.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4650 OH-46, Cortland, OH 44410. All are asked to meet directly at the church on Monday. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4659 OH-46 Cortland, OH 44410; or to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9899 Main St. #204, Damascus, MD 20872.
