The Season of the Infernal Horde brings a new board for Diablo4 Players will have to grind through it, and that means collecting lots of Mother’s Gifts. This guide will show you how to get more of them to progress through the story in Season 5.
How to collect Mother’s Gifts in Diablo 4
Kill elite monsters or bosses to receive Mother’s Gifts. Each kill you make will give you gifts that increase your overall reputation with Istel and the Triune. Elites are one rank higher than regular demons in Sanctuary and are much tougher than the average monster. However, they are not considered true bosses. They always have the Elite tag next to their name and some additional abilities to make the fight more difficult. Killing one of them will give you some of the Mother’s Gifts in Diablo4 so that you can proceed with the quest “The Rising Hells”.
- Kill elite enemies to receive small gifts.
- Defeat big bosses to get bigger loot.
- Participate in Infernal Hordes mode to earn the most Mother’s Gifts.
When gifts fall to the ground, they always appear as purple orbs. Just like other quests that require collecting numerous monster items, the gifts are collected simply by walking over them. Abnormal Ash works the same way and can even be collected passively with pets. In this case, the gifts are much rarer and you can easily collect them all if they drop from an elite monster or a big boss.

As enemies get stronger, the total amount of Mother Gifts dropped increases. Eliminating bosses in basements or even at the end of a dungeon can earn you over a dozen gifts at once. However, places like Helltides can offer non-stop elite monster spawns. Sometimes it can mean more gifts in the long run, as there are more mid-level enemies there than big bosses.
Once you’ve collected enough Gifts of the Mother, whether for The Rising Hells quest or not, you can bring them to Istel. She’s located in Hawezar in the Trinity of the Mother’s hut. In no time, you’ll have plenty of caches to open and a shining spark to look forward to at the end.
Diablo 4 is now available for PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
