Simone Biles’ father, Ronald Biles, received an unexpected gift from Snoop Dogg for his 75th birthday.
The “Young, Wild and Free” artist has been enjoying the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris since they began on July 26. While the US team participants compete against the best athletes from around the world, the rapper has been reporting since NBC as a correspondent for the Special Olympics.
While rumors swirl about his possible performance at the closing ceremony, Snoop Dogg spent time with Biles and her father Ronald on his big day. In fact, the 52-year-old artist honored Ronald with a sentimental gift.
On Instagram, Adria Biles – Simone’s younger sister – posted a picture of her father posing with the sweet gift from Snoop Dogg: a diamond necklace with a Death Row Records pendant. In the picture, Ronald is looking at the camera and holding his gift in the middle.
“Snoop gave him a chain. Now he doesn’t know how to act,” wrote Adria. “75 looks great on you. Happy birthday, I love you.”
The Olympic gold medalist and gymnast took to her social media and shared a picture of Ronald with his birthday cake. From behind, Ronald could be seen blowing out his candles and wearing Snoop Dogg’s chain while sitting in the stands of the athletics stadium.
Simone then posted a picture of herself and the “Sweat” artist walking outside the stadium in Paris, France. Snoop Dogg also shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) of himself and Simone laughing, cheering and watching the competition.
Fans praised the music idol in the comments on his post with Simone and called him a “legend”.
“The king, Snoop,” one person remarked, while another wrote, “You look amazing cheering with her.”
A third commented: “Always a legend.”
According to a recent report by diversityMultiple sources claimed that Snoop Dogg will make a surprise appearance during the Olympics closing ceremony on August 11. Billie Eilish and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are also slated to perform during the big spectacle. Each artist will either perform live or be heard on a pre-recorded tape.
Lady Gaga and Céline Dion performed at the opening ceremony of Paris 2024. At the opening, the 56-year-old Canadian singer sang a rendition of Edith Piaf’s “L’Hymne à l’amour”. This was her first performance after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, a rare condition that causes muscle cramps and stiffness.
Following her emotional return to the stage, the artist posted a poignant message on social media, admitting that she was honored to honor the incredible Olympic athletes with the closing ballad. “I am so excited to be back in one of my favorite cities,” she said. “Most of all, I am so happy to honor these amazing athletes with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance.”
“You have all been so focused on your dream, and whether you take home a medal or not, I hope that the fact that you are here means that your dream has come true for you,” she continued.
