Applebee’s recently reintroduced its all-you-can-eat appetizer, which includes double-crunch shrimp, tender riblets and boneless buffalo wings for just $15.99.
You also get unlimited fries—as long as you don’t share them. That’s a rule the restaurant tells its customers in advance (it’s on the menu), but one woman in Illinois ignored that warning and shared her entrees anyway.
She probably regrets it now.
Woman arrested after sharing Applebee’s all-you-can-eat appetizer
It all happened on August 2nd around 8:30 p.m. when Portage, Illinois police responded to a verbal altercation at an Applebee’s Bar & Grill.
According to reports, dispatch told officers that during the 911 call, they heard several women screaming and threatening people. When officers arrived at the scene, they were met outside by an unruly restaurant patron.
The woman got into a verbal altercation with the manager of the local Applebee’s because she believed that “all you can eat” meant that the entire table could enjoy an unlimited portion of appetizers.
When the manager announced that no, each person at the table would have to pay the $15.99 charge, an argument broke out and things got out of control.
Although the police were on site, other guests reported to the perpetrator how much she had disturbed their dinner with her shouting, which led to more loud arguments. At one point the woman even tried to cover another person’s mouth with her hand while he was speaking.
Despite being warned of possible arrest for disturbing the peace, she continued to be disruptive, so she was handcuffed and taken away in a patrol car.
Shawneesha Cobbs of Chicago was taken to the Porter County Jail where she was formally charged with disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
