Golf course supervisors, look away. The following video may be disturbing. Discretion is requested.
On Sunday, top-50 bubble boy Tom Kim was in good form at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, shooting four under par without a bogey over his first 15 holes, putting him well within reach of a spot in next week’s BMW Championship.
Kim then promptly collapsed, finishing with bogey, double bogey, double bogey, also known as the dreaded 6-6-6. But on the 12th hole, his frustration began to boil over when Kim missed a 6-foot shot for birdie and settled for a tap-in par. But before the tap-in, the 22-year-old slammed a spot on the green that he felt was affecting his birdie effort. Kim left a dent in the green and apparently walked off without repairing the dent:
The video cuts off early, but it looks like Kim scoops his ball out of the hole and walks away, which is a very harsh sight.
As expected, Golf Twitter did not hold back:
According to some keen observers, it was Kim’s caddy Paul Tesori who finally repaired the dent. Still, it wasn’t a good look.
Kim’s problems in the later rounds are also likely to cost him dearly.
