Chechnya’s President Ramzan Kadyrov took the internet by storm after posting a video of himself in a Tesla Cubertruck with a machine gun. Although Kadyrov claimed the truck was a gift from the Tesla founder himself, this has not been independently confirmed.
In the video, Kadyrov, a self-proclaimed ruler of Chechnya, a republic of the Russian Federation, invited Musk to visit Russia. He was visibly impressed by the vehicle and repeatedly referred to it as a beast. Kadyrov, an ally of Putin, said he was sure the “cyber beast” would bring many benefits to people.
He said the Crybertruyck was “undoubtedly one of the best cars in the world,” and he literally fell in love with it. “I am sure that this beast will bring many benefits to our troops.” Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported that while Kadyrov claimed that Muck gave him the truck as a gift, these claims could not be independently verified by the media.
But the highlight of the video was undoubtedly the invitation he sent to Musk. He acknowledged that the US and Russia don’t exactly have the best relations, but said that the Russian Foreign Ministry wouldn’t mind much.
“I do not think that the Russian Foreign Ministry would have anything against such a trip,” the Interior Ministry said. “And, of course, we are waiting for your new developments that will help us complete our special military operation (in Ukraine).”

Ramzan Kadyrov has been the head of state of the Chechen Republic since 2007. Kadyrov is known for his close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and has played a crucial role in maintaining control in Chechnya. However, his rule has been controversial, with numerous allegations of human rights abuses, including enforced disappearances, torture and persecution of LGBTQ+ people. Kadyrov’s rise to power was influenced by his father Akhmad Kadyrov, a former Chechen leader who initially supported independence but later sided with Russia before being assassinated in 2004.
