John Cena has given a definitive answer as to whether he will be on the first episode of Raw, which airs on Netflix in January 2025.
Two of the biggest stories in world wrestling entertainment in 2025 will involve legendary former WWE Champion John Cena and the world’s top streaming service, Netflix.
Earlier this year, a major deal was announced that will see WWE Monday Night Raw air live on Netflix for at least five years starting in January 2025. The deal could extend to ten years and also includes television rights to other WWE shows in several markets such as the UK, Canada and other countries.
As for John Cena, the former 16-time WWE World Champion announced in July that he plans to retire as an active wrestler in 2025. Cena, 47, believes that after 22 incredible years as a WWE Superstar, it is time to end his career. The plan calls for Cena to compete throughout 2025, with his final fight taking place in December of that year.
Cena was asked by Complex if he will be present at the first Raw in 2025, which will air live on Netflix.
“I can tell you I’ll be there for the debut. I think it’s June 1. I’m not sure, I think so; don’t quote me on that, but it’s a historic day for WWE. I’m so proud of WWE. Man, I’m such a fan of the merger. I love both companies, WWE and Netflix, and it’s an event I’m not going to miss. I’ll be there.”
The date is correct because on Monday, January 6, the first Raw episode of 2025 will air and fans can watch it on Netflix. What WWE has not yet announced is where this historic Raw episode will take place.
What will John Cena’s schedule be for WWE in 2025?
John Cena recently spoke about his plans for his final year as a WWE Superstar in 2025. The future WWE Hall of Famer has a specific number of dates in mind.
“I can probably confirm that Peacemaker will be with us through the end of 2024, and I can say that with the utmost confidence because I have left the 2025 calendar year to WWE.”
“I’m retiring in 2025 and I’m starting my farewell tour in January. I’ll finish it in December and I’ll have about 36 dates around the world to express my thanks and appreciation to the WWE audience around the world. So that’s what I’m doing in 2025.”
It is not yet known when Cena will next appear on WWE television.
