Craig Huse is convinced that Barkeep Vodka will be popular with vodka drinkers.

“In my 35 years in the restaurant industry, I’ve had the privilege of tasting nearly every premium vodka on the market,” said Huse, CEO of Huse Culinary, who is also one of four partners in Barkeep Vodka. “But nothing compares to the purity and smoothness of Barkeep Vodka, made with True Essence Foods’ patented compression filtering process. This groundbreaking technology has set a new standard for vodka and is poised to revolutionize the entire spirits industry. We’re excited to lead this transformation with Barkeep Vodka and bring the purest vodka experience to Indiana residents.”

Huse Culinary operates several restaurants in the Indianapolis area, including St. Elmo Steak House, 1933 Lounge and HC Tavern + Kitchen. True Essence is based in Indianapolis.

“True Essence Foods’ Flavor Balancing equipment is a proprietary additive-free mechanical filtration system that uses controlled pressure to remove off-flavors. The result is a cleaner, more balanced spirit flavor with more consistent taste without additives or preservatives,” said Matt Rubin, CEO of True Essence.

The product is available in most liquor stores and is expected to be available in major grocery stores soon. In addition to Huse Culinary restaurants, Barkeep Vodka is also available in other restaurants in the area.

“When creating the brand, we focused on ensuring our price to consumers was a strategic advantage for Barkeep,” said Bryn Jones, Vice President of Marketing and Partners. “We were very confident that we would create the purest tasting vodka ever, but we also wanted to bring the most competitively priced ultra-premium vodka to market. We accomplished that by distilling locally with Indiana corn, making our facility more efficient, and although we developed high-quality packaging for Barkeep Vodka, we made it minimalist and cost-effective.”

Jones said all processing of the 86-proof vodka, including pressure filtering, bottling and packaging, takes place at the company’s facility in south Indianapolis.

The other partners besides Jones and Craig Huse are Jamie Blake and Chris Clifford. All live in the Indianapolis area.

“We believe this is an important fact because none of the top 10 best-selling vodkas in Indiana are both based and operated in the Midwest,” Jones said.
