To the DailyKos community:
I recently gave a speech at a university in Ciudad de Guatemala on the recent presidential election in Venezuela, and have edited (and annotated) that speech for publication there, as well as in Mexico and Honduras. I documented serious concerns about interference in the electoral process as it is playing out both in Venezuela and on the international stage.
However, I hesitate to publish these comments here. In my recent articles here you can find the following comments: “This is garbage propaganda” or “pro-Maduro propaganda” or “anti-democracy and dictator fanboy bullshit” or “dictator propaganda (sic) and a deep disgrace to Daily Kos” or other character assassination attempts. Frankly, I expected more from progressives, but the hostility (towards me and the actual facts) has completely blindsided me. I have published enough over the last 35 years to know that I can’t make everyone happy.

I can only report what I see:

Focus on yourself, not on others.
Listen to your heart, not the crowd.”
