Pegasus Airlines introduces new route Istanbul-Tuzla

Pegasus Airlines, known for its affordable travel solutions, continues to expand its network with the launch of a new route. Starting August 24, 2024, the airline will operate weekly flights with Airbus A320 from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport to Tuzla International Airport. This move reflects the airline’s strategy to expand its presence in key short- and medium-haul markets and offer frequent connections to its customers.

Sabiha Gökçen International Airport is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, approximately 32 kilometers southeast of the city center, and serves as a hub for both AJet and Pegasus Airlines. The airport has experienced a remarkable increase in passenger traffic, welcoming 37 million travelers in 2023, a significant increase from 2020 figures. The international passenger segment recorded the strongest growth, increasing from 5.3 million in 2020 to nearly 19.4 million in 2023, underscoring the airport’s growing role in global air travel.

Tuzla International Airport, near Živinice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the second busiest airport in the country after Sarajevo International Airport. This new route by Pegasus Airlines is an important development to improve accessibility and promote connectivity between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina, boosting both tourism and business exchanges between the two regions, writes TW.
