On the road: Still time for a visit to the beach | Communities

Still time for the beach

As a reminder, Wrentham’s town beach on Lake Pearl, Sweatt Beach, is now open to residents of North Attleboro, Mansfield and Foxboro, as well as the towns of King Philip and Franklin. Upon arrival, beachgoers must show an ID from the approved towns to enter the beach. The daily rate is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12. The beach is located on Woolford Road, off Elysium Street, which is off Franklin Street (Route 140). For more information, visit www.wrentham.gov or call 508-384-5427.

Movie night in the park

Looking for a fun family outing on Friday night? See “Trolls Band Together” on the big screen at Capron Park in Attleboro. It’s part of the annual Motion Picture in the Park series. The 2023 film, the third installment in the Trolls series, is scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m. There is no admission charge. Bring your own blankets, chairs and snacks. Sturdy Health is sponsoring the screening.

The Neponset Choral Society will perform a free show called “Stay Tuned” at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Newell Shelter in Attleboro’s Capron Park. The concert is sponsored by grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and regional cultural councils, including Attleboro, Foxboro, Mansfield and Wrentham.

Cat show in the north

NorthEast Feline Fanciers will host a cat show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at VFW Post No. 443, 50 Jefferson St., North Attleboro. Each cat will be judged by eight judges. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Fundraiser for children in Franklin

A second annual Touch Tractor and Truck event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fairmount Fruit Farm, 887 Lincoln St., Franklin. Sunday is the alternate date. There will also be a beer garden, kids’ area, games, live music, food trucks, vendors and more. Children under 2 are free, everyone else is $5. Dogs are welcome. Proceeds go to the Franklin Food Pantry. You can skip the walk-in lines by purchasing tickets in advance.
