All children injured in the fatal stabbing during a Taylor Swift dance class in Britain have been released from hospital, officials said.
The last little survivor was discharged from the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on Thursday, where she had spent eight days since the knife-wielding madman carried out the stabbing on July 29.
Six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar were killed in the attack.
“This has been an incredibly difficult time for our country, especially for the families affected by these tragic events. We appreciate everyone’s continued support and compassion during this difficult time,” her family said said in a statement, Shared by Merseyside Police on social media.
“While we are relieved that our daughter is on the road to recovery, our deepest sympathies go out to the families of Bebe, Alice and Elsie during this incredibly painful time. Thank you.”
The young girl, whose identity is unknown, is one of eight children who escaped the unprovoked massacre with injuries.
The condition of two adults, whose condition was classified as critical after the tragedy, is unclear.
According to police, 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana entered Hart Space while a dance and yoga workshop on the topic of Taylor Swift was taking place for children between the ages of 6 and 11.
There is no known motive as to why the Welsh-born man attacked the children with a kitchen knife with a curved blade.
Two little girls died at the scene of the accident, a third was pronounced dead in hospital on Tuesday.
The two injured adults still in hospital are 35-year-old Leanne Lucas, who was leading the dance class, and John Hayes, who worked next door and rushed to help the children when he heard screams.
The brutal attack sparked unrest across Britain, sparked by rumors circulating online that the attacker was falsely portrayed as a Muslim man.
Members of a right-wing extremist group retaliated by throwing bricks and bottles at police officers, setting fire to garbage cans and vehicles, and looting local shops.
The family of the last little survivor to leave the hospital expressed their despair at the treatment by the police, who they said played a vital role in providing life-saving care to their beloved child.
“We are deeply saddened by the recent unrest and attacks on our police. It is important to highlight that our police officers were the first on the scene when the horrific events occurred,” they wrote.
“We are eternally grateful to the officers who stood by our daughter and provided her with aid and support until she was safely transported to the hospital.”
