It is a May-December relationship.
Holland Taylor, 81, recently appeared on Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM, where she discussed her relationship with partner Sarah Paulson, 49.
The two actresses have been romantically linked since 2015, almost a decade ago.
“We really have a wonderful response. We are interested in the same things, but still have big differences,” Taylor said.
“I mean, there’s a big generation gap between us that makes me worry for her. But she, you know, what can I do?”
Taylor, who won an Emmy for ABC’s “The Practice” and is also known for “Two and a Half Men” and “The Truman Show,” said of Paulson: “A lot of the things she’s going through right now that are very emotional and important to her, I went through, you know, 40 or 30 years ago.”
Taylor added: “And she reminds me of it and I think, ‘Oh, of course that’s hard. Of course that’s hard,’ or ‘Of course that’s great. Of course that’s important to her.'”
Taylor added that their age difference isn’t all bad, however, as she has enjoyed watching Paulson win her first Tony this year for “Appropriate” and “all the awards she’s won.”
Paulson won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story.”
“I mean, I think she won every award you can win. It was so exciting to see that joy,” Taylor said.
Despite their long-term relationship, Taylor announced that they will probably never get married.
“I don’t think so. We’ve never, no. We’ve never talked about it with any interest. It doesn’t seem to mean to us what it means to a lot of people.”
In addition, she previously said on the podcast “Smartless” that the couple “does not live together.”
“It’s kind of a secret,” she said of her successful romance.
In 2023, Taylor also told Page Six that she believes their differences help keep the spark alive.
“I think each of us follows our own path, so we are not exactly the same,” she said at the time.
“We do some things separately so that everyone can stay true to their beliefs,” she continued. “She’s much more social and I like a little alone time, so I have that. She spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance.”
One of their common interests is the “Real Housewives” shows that Paulson watches, Taylor Cohen said.
“I often see (Paulson) hunched over her iPad, you know, secretly eating popcorn and watching all the Housewives shows,” she told the Bravo host.
“I mean, I can’t believe how much you do,” she added. “Yeah, of course I’m fascinated when she watches… I think she watches old videos there. She’s obsessed.”
