Police release photos of men they want to speak to

Police have identified a number of men they would like to speak to following the riots in Hull on Saturday.

Officials released surveillance photos of 16 men on Wednesday, eight of whom are still being sought.

More than 30 people were arrested after violence broke out following an anti-immigration demonstration.

Humberside Police have asked people to contact them on 101 if they recognise any of the men pictured or have any information that could assist their investigation.

When riots broke out in the Ferensway, Jameson Street and Spring Bank areas on Saturday, police officers were attacked, shops were looted and fires were set.

There were fears that there might be further unrest on Wednesday evening, but police said there were no incidents of unrest.

Deputy Chief Constable Thom McLoughlin said: “We remain adequately resourced and have specialist patrol officers ready to both provide security and aggressively address emerging issues.”

He said a total of 35 people had been arrested since Saturday and officers would “not stop until every person responsible for the despicable behavior we saw over the weekend is in custody.”
