The comedian confirmed his marriage to Munn for the first time during an appearance on the episode of Late Night with Seth Meyersand he even brought his mother-in-law with him to the recording.
“I got married. Thank you very much. It’s the best,” Mulaney, 41, told the host Seth Meyersbefore he waved to his mother-in-law and greeted her, Kim Schmidwho was sitting in the audience.
“It’s the greatest time of my life,” Mulaney said of his marriage to 44-year-old Munn, with whom he has a two-year-old son, Malcolm.
John Mulaney and Olivia Munn have taken their romance into high gear after he split from his wife of six years, Anna Marie Tendler, in May 2021. Mulaney said that not only does he enjoy his married life with Munn, but he also has a close bond with her entire family.
“I’ve been in a lot of interesting situations, but marrying into a big Vietnamese family is one of the most fun things I’ve ever done,” he said. “They’re the best, man,” he added, pointing again to Munn’s mother, whom he affectionately called “Miss Kim.”
“One of them will go with you everywhere,” he joked about his in-laws. “And they call me John Mulaney – full name. Always full name: ‘Olivia is here with John Mulaney.'”
Mulaney continued to express her gratitude for the new family members and said that they do not shy away from difficult conversations.
“My family is white, Caucasian… so we’re uptight about a lot of topics,” he explained. “Money, health, everything – almost everything is taboo. The Luong family will talk about everything as soon as they meet you. ‘How much money do you have?’ ‘Why are you so thin?'”
People reported last month that the Saturday Night Live Alum and Press release The actress was married in early July in an intimate ceremony in upstate New York. Only her son and a best man were present, the outlet said. Today.com later reported that Munn’s former Press release Co-Star Sam Waterston led the ceremony.

Munn revealed earlier this year that she was privately battling breast cancer — and praised Mulaney for supporting her on her road to recovery. (Munn received her diagnosis in February 2023 but kept it a secret for over a year.)
“I’m so grateful for the nights he spent researching what each surgery and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect,” she wrote on Instagram in March. “For being there before each surgery, being there when I woke up, and always putting up framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so he was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”
