Instagram now allows you to publish 20 photos and videos in one post

Instagram now allows you to use up to 20 photos and videos in a single post. According to a report by The Verge, the meta-owned social networking platform started rolling out the new feature on August 8. The new feature will be made available to all Instagram users worldwide and will not be limited to specific regions only.

Instagram has doubled the limit on photos and videos you can include in carousel posts

Previously, you could only use 10 photos or videos in a single carousel post. The company has reportedly doubled that limit. Now, you can include up to 20 photos and videos in a single Instagram post. For those who don’t know, carousel posts allow users to “photoload” multiple images and videos at once in a single post. Instagram users can then use swipe gestures to view them all.

The higher carousel post limit on the Instagram app is helpful when multiple people contribute to a single post. The new extension also brings Instagram in line with TikTok in particular, with the latter allowing you to use up to 35 photos in a single post. Instagram has reportedly been testing higher image and video limits for standard grid posts since earlier this year.

Instagram originally rolled out the carousel post format to all users in 2017. Since then, the feature was limited to 10 items. The company has added new features to carousel posts since the launch. Notable additions include the ability to pair songs with the posts and delete a single photo from the stack.

Instagram AI Studio’s AI avatars are now available to all developers

In related news, Instagram’s AI Studio now allows all creators on the platforms to create their AI-powered avatars. The company originally launched this feature last year and is now rolling it out to more creators. Instagram has more ambitious plans for the AI Studio tools.

The company will eventually allow regular users to use the AI Studio tools to create their AI avatars. The update is in the pipeline and is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.
