The Google Photos app has several AI-powered editing tools including Magic Eraser which is popular among Google One users. Google recently published a blog post announcing that Google Photos app users will get all Google’s AI editing tools like Magic Eraser, Portrait Light, and Photo Unblur for free. Hence, any user who loves clicking and editing photos can use Magic Eraser to remove unwanted objects and enhance the look. Since the launch, all the features were only available to paying members of Google One who could use these editing features. These features will be available to users for free starting May 15.

Users can use the Google Magic Eraser feature for free
One of Google’s AI-powered editing tools is the Magic Eraser, which helps users to remove unwanted objects or people from the photos. All the users need to do is carefully create a frame around the objects they want to remove. They can also use the scribble or circle method to select the parts. Then, with the help of AI, the tool automatically removes the selected area from the photo.

How to use Magic Eraser
To use Google’s Magic Eraser feature, users must ensure that their Google Photos app is updated to the latest version.
- First, users need to select the photo they want to edit and click the Edit button.
- Then click on the magic eraser tool that appears in a multi-colored shade in the Photos app.
- Now users have the option to draw a frame around the unwanted object using a circle or a brush.

- After the part is successfully selected, users need to click on the delete option.
- Afterwards, different results of the edited version are displayed and the user can make the best of it.
- Finally, after selecting the best version, users can click on the checkmark option and tap on the “Save Copy” button.

The edited photo will be saved as a new image on the user’s phone. The magic eraser, as well as other AI editing features, are said to be available for Android and iOS users. These will not be available on the desktop as of now.
