As the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable Olympic Games, the closing ceremony of Paris 2024 was no disappointment. The athletes got their money’s worth, the entertainment, artistry and show were spectacular and the whole thing was rounded off in a three-hour, thrilling finale.

Between the Golden Voyager, Tom Cruise and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, there wasn’t much room for anyone to stand out, but French singer Yseult did just that when she closed the ceremony with a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way.”

Yseult’s performance was captivating from the start. It didn’t need fancy technical details or star-studded performances to captivate the crowd. But that’s not to say there wasn’t any. At the very end, fireworks were set off throughout the Stade de France, adding to the spectacle that the fans enjoyed.

Yseult may not be a household name in America, but her song definitely captured hearts. Here’s everything you need to know about the French musician and model.

Yseult’s age and upbringing

Yseult, 29 (she turns 30 on August 19), was born in Aisne, France. Although her musical talent was evident from a young age, her Cameroonian father did not allow her to pursue music. Of course, this ultimately pushed her into the music industry.

How did Yseult become famous?

Yseult rose to fame through the show “Nouvelle Star” after it aired in October 2013. She participated in the show’s final in February 2014, and although she lost the season to Mathieu Saikaly, Yseult signed with Polydor Records and almost immediately announced an album with French singer Emmanuel da Silva.

Yseult’s debut single “La Vague” had been viewed over a million times by the end of 2020.

What is Yseult doing now?

Since leaving Polydor Records in 2018, Yseult has done a number of modelling jobs, starting with ASOS’s fall campaign in 2018. She also served as an international spokesperson for L’Oréal in 2021. Her most recent work as a musician was recently with a feature on the song “Alibi” by Iranian-Dutch singer Sevdaliza.
