The Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA), in collaboration with the Santa Barbara Symphony, presents “A Day of Music” on Sunday, August 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the SBMA, 1130 State St.

The programme combines music with art from the exhibition ‘A Legacy of Giving: The Lady Leslie and Lord Paul Ridley-Tree Collection’ in a series of pop-up performances taking place in the museum galleries throughout the day.

The dedicated musicians Jessica Guideri (violin), concertmaster of the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, and Amy Tatum, principal flutist of the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, will play a combination of solo pieces and duets.

Each piece lasts about 20 minutes and responds to another work in the exhibition. Performances take place at 1:00 p.m., 1:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

Attendance at the performances is included in the museum entrance fee.

Guideri is a recording artist, chamber musician, and teacher. She has appeared on over 500 film and television soundtracks, including Star Wars, Family Guy, The Simpsons, and Frozen, and has performed on the main stage at Carnegie Hall.

Tatum is a genre-bending flautist from Los Angeles. As a recording artist, she has appeared on hundreds of soundtracks for films, television, video games, and pop music.
