For thousands of spectators, the highlight of the Olympic Games closing ceremony was a man and his bowl of noodles.

The closing ceremony took place at the Stade de France in Paris and honored the last three weeks of sporting excellence with performances by hundreds of acrobats, dancers and circus artists.

There were also the usual parades of athletes and the display of the flags of the participating nations, with a section dedicated to the change of host from Paris to Los Angeles.

While it was all very exciting, as expected, it was the little things that got people talking on social media.

The eagle-eyed X-users commented on the ceremony’s antics and were laughed out loud when a man appeared to be eating noodles in the middle of the orchestra’s performance.

Right at the beginning of the ceremony, the music ensemble thrilled the packed hall and millions of viewers at home with its talent.

What caught people’s attention, however, was the guy casually eating noodles with chopsticks next to him, blissfully unaware that he was about to crash the Internet.

The video quickly made its way online and quickly garnered over a million views. BexMix_41 wrote: “Shoutout to the guy who is just casually eating noodles during the orchestra performance at the #ClosingCeremony.”

“This could be the highlight of the evening!” explained trumpetlill.

JustinLever3 joked: “I want to be as carefree as this guy.”

“I could do that job in an orchestra,” laughed _Peebs69.

Others said they would gladly take over his job in the orchestra and praised him for his wise considerations given the length of the ceremony.

This is far from the first viral moment at the 2024 Olympics, which have spawned as many memes as medals.

And yet another Simpsons prediction seemed to come true after Australian breakdancer Raygun – real name Rachael Gunn – became one of the games’ most talked-about stars thanks to her unique performance.

So TV fans soon noticed the similarities between her dance and a scene from the popular cartoon series in which Homer performed a series of similar moves in the 1990s.

Elsewhere, Canadian Alysha Newman went viral with her twerking celebration after the pole vault, and who could forget French athlete Anthony Ammirati and his impressive package?

The Olympics continued to deliver extremely meme-worthy content right up until the end, culminating with a series of death-defying stunts by the one and only Tom Cruise that ushered in the official flag handover to Los Angeles.

The actor from “Mission: Impossible” jumped over 40 meters from the roof of the stadium and portrayed Ethan Hunt in his typical leather jacket.

The Hollywood icon was greeted by Olympians and fans in the audience before speeding away on a motorcycle.

The audience reacted in amazement to the epic performance, which ended with shots of his skydive and sprint to the Hollywood sign.

X-user Mattzel89 wrote: “By the way, Tom Cruise is 62 years old.”

AllThingsDante wrote: “SHE plays a guitar solo while Tom Cruise jumps off the stadium roof and then rides through Paris on a motorcycle under the Olympic flag… and then gets on a plane… and then jumps off the plane to LA. #LA2028 is going to be wild.”

TCNews62 said they were “speechless” and praised the movie star as “unique.”
