John Cena explained in a new interview with Shannon Sharpe why parenthood just isn’t for him.
Cena married his wife Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020 after separating from his first wife Elizabeth Huberdeau in 2012.
He has played the role of a father in films such as 2018’s The Last Man. blockers, But in his real relationships he was never interested in children and he is happy with this decision.

The actor explained his thoughts on having children while appearing on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast this month, with the host referencing a previous report in which Cena said he “doesn’t want kids.”
“How far are you with the kids now?” asked Shay.
Cena, now 47, has openly stated that he does not want children, but acknowledged that it can be hard because “a large part of our lives is reproduction.”
He continued: “I am curious about life and also know what investments it requires.
“And my biggest fear is that as an ambitious – often stubborn and selfish – person, I try to approach the world with kindness and curiosity, but I don’t think I am personally ready and never will be to invest the time necessary to be a great parent because I want to live life to the fullest.”

Cena went on to say that he feels like he still has “a lot to do” in life and referred to Shariatzadeh, saying he has a “wonderful partner” with whom he wants to share these moments.
The WWE star said he and his wife had “open conversations” about having children and shared “the same values” in that regard.
“It’s a difficult subject to talk about because it immediately puts you in a box and we can’t help but judge,” Cena said.
However, he expressed his belief that everyone “can live their life well.”
“This is not a spontaneous reaction. I have thought about it long and hard,” he added.
“My opinions only get into that gray area during emotionally difficult times,” he said. “I’m very happy with my position. I have a lot of joy and fulfillment in my life and that’s pretty much my position.”
Cena was praised by fans for his approach to the matter after opening up Club Shay Shaywith one fan commenting: “I respect his decision. No one who doesn’t want kids should ever have any!!!”
Another added: “The most important thing for him is to be honest with himself, especially if he has children.”
