Scott McTominay was visibly moved when he received a special gift from a fan as he left Old Trafford for the last time.

The 27-year-old is expected to join Serie A side Napoli after they agreed a £25 million deal with Manchester United.

United rejected an offer from Fulham for McTominay at the start of the transfer window, but the Scottish international is close to a move to Italy after being given the green light to travel following a medical.

Academy graduate McTominay is entering the final year of his contract at United, ending a 22-year association with his boyhood club.

On Tuesday, McTominay appeared to say goodbye at the Theatre of Dreams and was seen leaving the premises for the last time.

However, the midfielder left the field with a nice farewell gift given to him by a fan.

United fan Skye regularly hands out wristbands to players like Mason Mount and Luke Shaw, who was even spotted wearing one at the 2024 European Championships.

New signing Joshua Zirkzee recently received one, as did McTominay, who was delighted to receive the accessory as a “reminder of United”.

“No way! Thank you, that’s so cute. I’ll wear it,” McTominay said before immediately putting the bracelet on his wrist and posing for a photo.

McTominay made his first-team debut in 2017 and went on to play 255 times for the club, scoring 29 goals and winning both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

His move to Naples is another important step for the Partenopei, who have appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager.

He will be the fourth signing of the summer, but will soon be followed by out-of-favour Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who spent the last two seasons on loan in Serie A with Inter Milan and Roma.

Napoli are also hoping to strike a deal with McTominay’s compatriot Billy Gilmour and will pay Brighton around £12.5 million for his services.
