A California great-grandmother and cancer survivor celebrated her 90th birthday this month with a 12,000-foot skydive.
Shirley Tuter of Dunnigan embraced her adventurous side in her ninth decade on Earth, checking off an item on her bucket list on August 16.
The newly turned 90-year-old jumped from the plane from Yolo County Airport aboard a professional skydiver from SkyDance SkyDiving.
Tuter remained completely calm before the big jump – even when a staff member alerted her to the “danger” warning scribbled on her equipment.
“I’m a dangerous chick,” she said with a smile in a clip filmed by the skydiving company and released on Monday.
Tuter blew the camera a kiss and gave a thumbs up before attempting the hair-raising jump.
When she landed, she received loud cheers from her family and immediately started cracking jokes.
“It was fun. I may never walk again,” she said with a giggle.
Tuter’s son, John Lewis, told local station ABC 10 that the unusual, daring celebration fit the character of his mother, a cancer survivor.
He called her a “brave little lady.”
