JOHN DANIEL FISCHER, 89, of Marlette, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at United Hospice of Marlette Regional Hospital.
John was born on July 30, 1935 in Kitchner, Ontario to the late Clarence and Agatha (Boese) Fischer. He married Judy (Wright) in 1969. John loved his Lord. He was a member and faithful servant of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marlette. As part of their mission, he and Judy helped build three churches. John was a handyman who could fix anything around the house. He and Judy owned Ace Hardware from 1971 until the early 1990s. John loved fast cars and anything related to them. He also loved eating cookies.
John leaves behind his wife Judy; children Jill (Ron) Borek, George (Ann) Fischer, Caryn (Conrad) Brooks and Paul (Michelle) Fischer; 15 grandchildren: Adam, Crystal, Nicole, Jason, Danielle, Taylor, Jeremy, Andrew, Jessica, Chelesea, Gabrielle, Abagayle, Connor, Nathaniel and Johnathon; 25 great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
John’s parents had already died before him.
A memorial service was held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6770 Marlette Street, Marlette, Michigan 48453.
